CRAC has served as China’s official representative to the IARU Region 3 since 2016. It brings domestic amateur radio regulations in line with international standards set by the IARU and ITU, and coordinates various international amateur radio activities.

There is no global mutual recognition of amateur radio licenses. Operators need temporary permits to use radio stations in foreign countries. Radio signals can cross national borders freely, yet all official administrative coordination must go through CRAC.
